Another day, another accusation of cultural appropriation by the Kardashians.
The latest comes from Khloe Kardashian, who has sparked backlash after using an emoji of a woman with a dark skin tone.
The variant, which was introduced alongside four others in 2015, is often used by people of colour, yet the 36-year-old – who is white with Armenian heritage – thought it appropriate for her use.

The tweet did not go unnoticed, with people accusing Kardashian of ‘blackfishing’ and calling her to use a skin tone that better reflected her own.

Kardashian and her siblings have found themselves embroiled in a number of race rows, often accused of cherry-picking their aesthetics to appear a different race to than their own.
Khloe, Kim and Kylie Jenner in particular, have repeatedly been called out for darkening their skin tone, and wearing their hair in styles predominantly worn by Black women.
I get REALLY offended when people say that the Kardashians coined a certain look. WOC been had that look, especiall… https://t.co/dTEC4kdlsS— Pamela Harley Munroe🌻 (@Pamela Harley Munroe🌻) 1612223543
The sisters have also been accused emulating other cultures in the name of fashion, with Khloe wearing a niqab – which are worn by women of Muslim faith – on trips to Dubai.
Kylie faced similar criticism upon the launch of her make-up collection which saw many suggest she was copying a culture that wasn’t her own.
