Harry Potter characters as you've never seen them before

These drawings of Harry Potter characters are from a forthcoming fully illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, the first book in the series.

The images are by award-winning artist Jim Kay who brings a slightly eerie quality to the well-known characters. "The story is everything, and so I want to bring what I can to really show the depth of Rowling's stories, to their best," Kay said.

Here are his newly released four new images from the book, which Time note have been personally approved by JK Rowling. The book itself will be released in October 2015.
