Music’s “biggest night” returned on Sunday with a revamped show for the coronavirus pandemic and hopes of avoiding yet another year of controversy and disappointment.
The Grammys has long had a love-hate relationship with music fans - who love to see their favourite artists celebrated but also cannot stand the Recording Academy’s habit of making insane and often unpredictable choices…
It looked like this year might be another one of those odd ceremonies after the Academy announced a bizarre set of nominees for Album of the Year (Black Pumas? Coldplay?? Jacob Collier???)...
But in the end, the 2021 Grammys were mostly okay - with big wins for Taylor Swift, Beyonce and Megan Thee Stallion, and a string of strong performances from genuine superstars.
Most importantly, no-one was forced to perform “I Sing the Body Electric”...

Of course, for most people, the Grammys is basically irrelevant as a ceremony for celebrating music and just a vessel for memes and celebrity outfits...
You can find some of the best from the night below:
Harry Styles’ many feather boas
Whether you like his music or not, we should all be able to agree that Harry Styles is one of modern history’s greatest celebrities and he delivered once again last night by wearing a leather suit and multiple feather boas…

Another key feature of the Grammys is the opportunity to see some of music’s biggest stars all in the same room together - and this year didn’t disappoint:

Beyonce makes history
With her 28th win, Beyonce became the most-awarded woman in Grammys history last night, overtaking bluegrass-country singer Alison Krauss.
Naturally, that iconic win led to an iconic reaction…
