Ellen DeGeneres has posted an (admittedly hilarious) almost four-minute video to Twitter in an attempt to defend her friendship with George W Bush.
Over the weekend, pictures and videos of the pair at a football game caused a bit of a storm, with people on the left criticising DeGeneres for being friends with a Republican - and a highly controversial former president at that.
In response, DeGeneres said she is friends with Bush and many other people who don't share her beliefs, and that's OK.
While people appreciated the sentiment, many also pointed out that Bush's actions actually had huge consequences for many marginalised communities that Ellen supposedly supports, so it's about more than just "differing opinions".
Bush seems to have extricated himself from the situation unscathed, no apology video needed despite being seen with a known liberal...
