Disney has unveiled all the films on its streaming service and some of them have to be seen to be believed

Disney has announced all the titles for its streaming service and there’s a lot to take in.

As anyone who’s watched The Lego Batman Movie will know, a small group of media corporations have a impressive/terrifying roster of franchises in the film and TV industry - they pretty much own everything.

So with Disney+ being the long-awaited streaming service from one of the world's biggest media corporations, it's therefore expected to be the greatest depository of modern American culture in history.

And if you’re going to create a comprehensive collection of more than 50 years of American culture, there’s one thing you need… trash - lots of steaming hot trash.

Of course, many of the classics are there, with the majority of Marvel films, Star Wars, Pixar and the company’s own animated hits included, but when you look at the full list of titles, it’s clear that Disney has had a fair few more misses than hits.

For example, who remembers the 1959 classic Darby O’Gill and the Little People?

No?

Okay, how about the 1986 made-for-TV adventure film Fuzzbucket?

Surely there must be some fans of The Secret of the Magic Gourd out there?

Anyone excited for The Shaggy D.A.?

After announcing about 600 titles, it started to feel like Disney must be making up at least some of these films…

Some weird trends also started to emerge, like the apparently unstoppable bankability of Don Knotts…

It’s good to know that culture has always been 90 per cent trash and there’s nothing you can do about it.

At least parents now have an endless stream of content to help keep their children entertained.
