Twitter will no longer be gifted with the musings of model and actress Chrissy Teigen – who was dubbed by some as the unofficial queen on the site.

Teigen’s social media persona, particularly on Twitter, has become a part of her personal brand – known for clever quips and sometimes long-winded feuds with a former president. On Wednesday, however, she tweeted that she would be leaving the platform for good, as it was having major effects on her mental health.

“For over 10 years, you guys have been my world. I honestly owe so much to this world we have created here. I truly consider so many of you my actual friends,” she wrote on her now deactivated account. “But it’s time for me to say goodbye. This no longer serves me as positively as it serves me negatively, and I think that’s the right time to call something.”

“I’ve always been portrayed as the strong clap back girl but I’m just not,” she added.

Teigan, who had more than 13 million twitter followers, had faced backlash in recent days for partnering with Kris Jenner on a line of cleaning products. She also faced attacks after she documented a traumatic pregnancy loss back in October.

“I encourage you to know and never forget that your words matter. No matter what you see, what that person portrays, or your intention. For years I have taken so many small, 2-follower count punches that at this point, I am honestly deeply bruised,” she said later in the Twitter thread.

While some fans were shocked by her abrupt withdrawal, of course mental health always comes first. But in honor of her departure, here are some of Teigen’s most memorable Twitter moments:

1. Putting Donald Trump in his place

Let start with where Teigen perhaps gained the most notoriety: in her communications with Donald Trump.

In September of 2019, she called the president, "a p**** a** b****,” adding that he “tagged everyone but me. an honor, mister president".

This came after Trump, who also no longer has Twitter, tweeted about criminal justice reform. The tweet from the then-president read: "Guys like boring musician John Legend and his filthy-mouthed wife are talking now about how great it is – but I didn’t see them around when we needed help getting it passed.”

2. Putting basically everyone in their place

When Vogue asked in 2018: “Is a 24-year-old really a teenager? Some researchers say yes.” Teigen hilariously responded simply: “Some dictionaries say no”.

3. Not-so-humble brags about her husband

The queen of Twitter also won the day when it was announced that John Legend, her husband, was dubbed the “Sexiest Man Alive”. She not only made known the fact she was “boning him” but changed her bio to, "De-motivational speaker currently sleeping with people's sexiest man alive."

4. But also hilariously teasing her husband

Teigen makes a habit of jokingly mocking her husband, at one point Tweeting a picture of her daughter Luna holding an ‘Arthur’ doll. In the caption she wrote: "This is my childhood Arthur doll. My mom has kept it all this time. Maybe I've been attracted to Arthur my whole life and now I found my real life human one." (The internet mercilessly teases Legend for resembling the cartoon character).

He simply replied: "Wow".

5. Being a badass feminist

Chrissy also had the perfect response for a Twitter user who asked why she hadn’t taken her husband’s last name: “My husband didn’t even take his last name?”

6. Delivering home truths

Teigen is known for being highly candid about her body and her time being a model. After admitting she had had plastic surgery in a Glamour interview, she said that at the time she had wanted her “[boobs] to be perky”. She retweeted the article jokingly saying “Narrator: they did not stay perky”.

7. Flirting like a pro

As you can see, John and Chrissy used to constantly interact on the website. Posing for Vanity Fair in 2019, Teigen posted a glamorous photo of herself with the caption, “when u wanna pretend you have no kids or husband for a sec”. Legend commented, “Hi. I’m single too. Call me.” Teigen, to the tune of 25 thousand likes, said “how sad if we cheat … with each other”.

The list of prolific and wry – now probably gone forever – tweets goes on, whether it’s about her love of Meghan, food recommendations, or the trials of her daughter’s hamster. Much of the web will miss her, but we hope she finds some internet-free peace.
