Robert Downey Jr. and Mark Ruffalo are defending their Avengers co-star after Chris Pratt was dubbed the worst famous Chris.
Pratt’s fellow Avengers castmates have come to his defence following a viral Twitter poll which asked which Chris was the worst out of Evans, Hemsworth, Pine and Pratt.
Many, many people chose Pratt as the worst.
Some people voiced their dislike because they thought Pratt might be a Trump supporter.
He has, in the past, attended an anti-LGBTQ+ church and worn a symbol adopted by white supremacists.
Pratt was, ultimately, roasted online.
But Ruffalo and Downey Jr used social media to explain why their co-star is actually a “solid man”.
In a tweet on Tuesday, Ruffalo wrote: “You all, @prattprattpratt is as solid a man there is. I know him personally, and instead of casting aspersions, look at how he lives his life. He is just not overtly political as a rule.”
Downey Jr also had strong words for internet bullies. On Instagram, he wrote: “The “sinless” are casting stones at my #brother, Chris Pratt.”
Later in the post, he continued: “If you take issue with Chris,,, I’ve got a novel idea. Delete your social media accounts, sit with your OWN defects of #character, work on THEM, then celebrate your humanness.”
It wasn’t only the stars of the films who defended him.
The director of Guardians of the Galaxy, James Gunn, did too.
As did Pratt’s wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, who wrote on Instagram that “being mean is so yesterday”.
It looks like the Avengers assembled.
