Just when you thought the Hollywood barrel was well and truly empty, Sony Pictures has scraped just a little more from the bottom: there's going to be an emoji movie.
What's more, there was a studio auction for the rights to the feature-length film, for which Sony forked over a seven-figure sum.
Maybe we shouldn't be that surprised: after Smurfs and Lego and Minions, Emoji are the next logical step.
