Perhaps one of the most ambitious celebrity crossovers ever was announced earlier this week when Lady Gaga posted a photograph with actor Adam Driver in vintage outfits.

Two of the internet’s favourite celebs, Gaga’s post indicated the continuation of her role as an actress in a new film called House of Gucci to be directed by Ridley Scott. “Signore e Signora Gucci #HouseOfGucci,” Gaga wrote as the caption of the glamorous photo.

The film will follow designer Maurizio Gucci and his wife, Patrizia Reggiani Martinelli. The film takes place in the mid-1990s, and Driver and Gaga’s attire was turned into an instant meme.

For some, the most remarkable element of the photo was the fact that Adam appears to be roughly twice Gaga's size.

Many others were quick to draw attention to Adam’s white knitted sweater – as a similar sweater received a lot of attention in the popular film Knives Out.

Even the official Knives Out twitter commented, “naw this is from knives out 2”.

Some thought the pair looked like an old picture of your parents, while another person joked that they're likely the only couple on Tinder you'd swipe right on.

“your stepmother and i are just checking in from the vacation. make sure you take your sister to soccer practice,” one person joked pretending to be the couple.

Another person suggested it was time to re-record Gaga’s ‘Telephone’, but this time with Driver’s vocals instead of Beyonce.

The movie is based onThe House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed by Sara Gay Forden.

No official synopsis for the film has been released yet, and the film won’t be released until November of this year. But if the iconic outfits are any clue, it is sure to be a hit.
