A teenager inadvertently tweeted photos from Nirvana's first ever gig

We bet Maggie Poukkula's dad is cooler than your dad.

Why? Because 19-year-old Maggie, from Seattle, just found a roll of pictures which show him jamming with Kurt Cobain in March 1987 in what is believed to be Nirvana's first ever concert.

She tweeted the pictures along with the caption, "Pictures of my dad and Kurt Cobain playing together back in the day".

Maggie's dad Tony, a member of Seattle band Laytem, was friendly with Cobain, and hosted the band's first gig in his basement. The set featured a few fledgling Nirvana songs, including "Mexican Seafood", "If You Must" and "Spank Thru" as well as some Led Zeppelin covers.

Maggie said her dad mentioned the gig a while ago, but she forgot about it until she found the photographs tucked into one of her dad's biographies about Kurt Cobain.

"I had no idea that those were during Nirvana's first concert," she told Rolling Stone. "I didn't realise it was such a historical thing. I thought they were just cool pictures of my dad and Kurt jamming together."
