New James Bond author Anthony Horowitz reckons Idris Elba isn’t “suave” enough to play 007 when Daniel Craig steps down. At this point, we should note, he also thought the critically-acclaimed Skyfall was a bit “weak”.

“For me, Idris Elba is a bit too rough to play the part. It’s not a colour issue. I think he is probably a bit too 'street' for Bond. Is it a question of being suave? Yeah,” Horowitz - who is currently writing the next Bond novel Trigger Mortis - told The Daily Mail.

Elba is the bookies’ favourite to be the next Bond, and is considered to be the flyest man alive by some.
