Woman thinks her fitbit is broken, turns out she's pregnant

Welcome to the future, where the internet knows you're pregnant before you do.

Reddit user YoungPTone took to the popular FitBit forum to try and crowdsource an answer for a problem his wife was having with her fitness tracking wristband - but didn't quite get the answer he was expecting.

The device kept showing she had an elevated heart rate, he wrote.

My wife's Fitbit is showing her heartbeat being consistently high over the last few days. 2 days ago, a somewhat normal day, she logged 10 hours in the fat burning zone, which I would think to be impossible based on her activity level. Also her calories burned do seem accurate...

I'm not sure if something is wrong with the sensor. Is there a way to reset or recalibrate the device? Id like to try that before I contact customer service about a possible replacement.

Several people weighed in with suggestions for YoungPTone, but there was one reply from user Thatwasunpleasant that particularly caught his eye.

Thatwasunpleasant, who recently experienced the same thing and found out the cause was that she was two months pregnant, asked:

Has she experienced anything really stressful in the last few days or is it a possibility she is pregnant?

YoungPTone relayed this idea to his partner...

...And it turned out Thatwasunpleasant was right.

Well done, 21st century.
