But at least Nasa has taken some of the most famous audio clips from its archive and posted them on Soundcloud, from John F Kennedy's "we choose to go to the Moon" speech to the plaintive beeps of Sputnik, and from the sound of light curving in space to, of course, Neil Armstrong's immortal line on the Moon.

One of our favourites is interstellar plasma sounds, which already sounds like a trip hop dance collective.
