The sex toy that can also get you pregnant

A lesbian who invented a sex toy that can also be used for artificial insemination is crowd-funding to create a second version of the device.

Stephanie Berman devised the ‘Semenette’, an ejaculating dildo, after she and her wife decided they wanted to start a family.

“We thought about our options and weren’t necessarily happy with any of them," Berman told Refinery29. "I started thinking, what if I could recreate the technology that a turkey baster would provide, but in the form of a sex toy?”

The product is currently on sale for $139.99 (£93) and has been nominated for couples’ sex toy of the year at the Xbiz awards. Now Berman has launched an Indiegogo aimed at securing funding to develop the Semenette 2.0 which will have different colour options and be "softer".

Berman says the toy has been bought by many including heterosexual couples and men with erectile dysfunction. And she adds those who don't want to put semen inside the toy can "get creative" although "you have to take into consideration what you’ll be introducing into the body".
