On Tuesday the Trump Administration announced it plans to repeal rules that stop providers interfering in your internet access.

The chair of the Federal Communications Commission told a press conference that the government was going to end 'heavy regulation' of the internet, by repealing laws that enforce net neutrality.

Net neutrality means that websites are treated the same way by internet providers (ISPs), regardless of their popularity and the web traffic they generate.

Without net neutrality, ISPs are able to block, slow, or otherwise restrict access to certain websites, and charge customers a premium to remove the restrictions.

The web, while it remains free to read, has been waging a war against the measures for months with its strongest weapon - memes.
