Businesses on Skye have opted for "snail mail" rather than the internet, infuriated by slow broadband speeds.
The north-west of the island lost its network at the end of last year, and has suffered reduced speeds since.
Russell Sherwood, who runs a photography business, told the BBC he has resorted to loading files onto disks and mailing them to clients.
It takes a couple of days but is faster than trying to do it by broadband.
BT said the fault was now fixed.
