A week off from Facebook can make you a happier person, a new study has found.
Researchers in Denmark split a group of 1,095 daily Facebook users, ranging in age from 16 to 76, into two groups, denying one access to the social network while the other continued as normal.
After a week, those who had gone cold turkey from their daily dose of the social media site felt 55 per cent less stressed.
Researcher Meik Wiking, CEO of the Happiness Research Institute in Copenhagen, told the Guardian: "Facebook is a constant bombardment of everyone else's great news, but many of us look out of the window and see grey skies and rain - especially in Denmark!"
