President Joe Biden’s Venmo account was discovered by reporters after “less than 10 minutes” of searching, it has emerged.

So, we definitely know that the 78-year-old keeps up with modern technology.

Luckily for him, the transactions on the account were set to private, though his account was reportedly linked to his family members.

The mobile payment service automatically displays connections, or “friends”, and Biden’s account listed a number of his own close contacts, including his children and grandchildren, Buzzfeed News reported on Friday.

The quest to uncover Biden’s account began after The New York Times published an inside look at the US leader’s time in the White House so far.

“One advisor said he had sent the grandchildren money using Venmo,” the story said.

So, naturally, reporters were curious to see if they could unearth the account themselves.

With that key piece of information it took “less than 10 minutes” to find the president’s account, Buzzfeed reported.

Following the report, accounts linked to Biden and First Lady Jill were removed.

In a statement to Buzzfeed, a Venmo spokesperson said: “The safety and privacy of all Venmo users and their information is always a top priority, and we take this responsibility very seriously.

“Customers always have the ability to make their transactions private and determine their own privacy settings in the app. We’re consistently evolving and strengthening the privacy measures for all Venmo users to continue to provide a safe, secure place to send and spend money.”

Looks like President Biden might have to start giving money to his grandkids the old fashioned way...
