A complete timeline of Zendaya and Tom Holland’s relationship - from kissing to Instagram posts

The internet erupted when pictures released of Tom Holland and Zendaya kissing seemed to confirm a romantic relationship between the pair, earlier this year.

The couple co-starred in the 2017 Spider-Man movies and were pictured kissing one another in Holland’s car while they waited at a red light.

Rumours about the couple being in a romantic relationship have been swirling since they film the movie in which Holland, 25, played Peter Parker and Zendaya, 24, played a classmate named Michelle.

Ever since then, the pair have shared gushing comments and social media posts about one another which have only fuelled romance rumours further.

Here is a complete timeline of their blossoming relationship:

2016

Shooting for the Spider-Man film in which the pair co-starred in began in 2016. Off-set, they would hang out in between shooting and Holland posted a picture of them in a pool with a friend on his Instagram account.

In promoting the movie they were in photo shoots together and in a post on Instagram, showing them on the cover of The Hollywood Reporter, Zendaya wrote: “Honored to share it with the very best...Spider-Man himself @tomholland2013”.

2017

Following the movie, rumours about the pair dating picked up. A source seemed to confirm the rumours as they told People: “They’ve been super careful to keep it private and out of the public eye but they’ve gone on vacations with each other and try and spend as much time as possible with one another.”

But, Zendaya was quick to hit back at the reports, tweeting: “Wait wait...my favorite is when it says we go on vacations together HA!”

2018

Holland and Zendaya continued to share love for each other on social media with appreciation and birthday posts.

The British actor posted an image on Zendaya’s 2018 Met Gala ball look on Instagram, captioning the post: “All hail the queen. Killing it mate 🙌🏻.”

Similarly, Zendaya posted on Instagram for Holland’s birthday with a goofy video of the British actor playing with light up swords and breaking one.

2019 and 2020

In 2019, Zendaya and Holland were both busy promoting sequel, Spider-Man: Far From Home, while Zendaya also enjoyed success with separate project Euphoria.

Each was suspected of dating other people – Zendaya, her Euphoria co-star Jacob Elordi, and Holland, supermodel Kaia Gerber.

2021

Images of the couple kissing appeared to confirm the pair are officially dating and fans couldn’t be happier, after suspecting for so many years.

The couple did not confirm the romance, but it hasn’t stopped social media users from getting excited.

In August, the pair were spotted together over the weekend at a friend’s wedding in Simi Valley, Daily Mail reported.

For Zendaya’s 25th birthday on September 1, Holland posted a cute photo of themselves together on set in their dressing room, with Holland wearing his iconic Spider-Man suit and Zendaya hold the camera up to her face and smiling.

In the caption accompanying the photo, the 25-year-old wrote: “My MJ, have the happiest of birthdays. Gimme a call when your [sic] up xxx”

In recent interview with InStyle, Zendaya appeared to gush over Holland and said: “He’s a fun time.”

She added: “Very charismatic and can make anybody feel comfortable and have a good laugh, have a good chat - I sound so British.”

But the gushing hasn’t stopped there as Holland recently posted a photo of Zendaya from the Dune movie premiere in London to his 48.5m followers on October 18.

He captioned the post “Dune” with an heart-eye emoji to which fans went wild in response, branding Holland as “Zendaya’s number one fan.”

Since gushing over the 25-year-old, Holland’s post has received more than 7m likes, along with tens of thousands of comments from fans who love the actor’s dedication post.

It seems Zendaya herself appreciated the tribute, and sent fans wild after she commented on Holland’s post with a shy emoji - which now has over 270,000 likes.

And finally, in December the pair were seen flirting heavily at a press junket with a reference to their upside-down make-out session in the movie.
