Hillary Clinton's loss in the 2016 presidential election sent shockwaves around the world and to be honest, we are still trying to come to terms with the fact that Donald Trump is the president.

Although the next election is just around the corner and there might be a small chance that Trump could be defeated (which would definitely be a relief) but we can't recall anyone saying that they suffered post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of what happened in 2016.

However, that's exactly what Sayu Bhojwani, the founder of a New American Leaders, an organisation that encourages first and second-generation Americans to vote, said on Sunday that Clinton's loss caused herself and overs to develop PTSD.

She explained this in a thread, while also advocating her support for Democratic candidate Elizabeth Warren.

Supporting Warren is obviously fine but comparing an election loss to the very serious condition of PTSD was a big no-no for some people on Twitter, with some who have the condition explaining why this statement is problematic.

Bhojwani did eventually respond to the criticism after being told to choose her 'words more carefully.'
