Jeremy Corbyn has beaten Owen Smith and will continue as leader of the Labour party.
The result was announced at the party's conference in Liverpool on Saturday where it was revealed that Corbyn had grown his mandate from the election last year; winning just shy of 62 per cent of the vote.
After being panned over the EU referendum and last year's general election, where most predictions were wrong, it has emerged that not only was the Labour leadership contest a victory for Corbyn but a victory for the pollsters too.
As Politics.co.uk's Adam Bienkov pointed out, a YouGov poll from last month got the result spot on:
