Are Fox News… OK?
While this question could be asked most days of the week, it’s particularly relevant today after some unbelievable footage has emerged online.
Fox News host Tucker Carlson got more than he bargained for when he invited historian Rutger Bregman on his show. Bregman, who recently told billionaires gathered at Davos in Switzerland that they need to pay their fair share of taxes, was appearing on Carlson’s show to argue for increased taxation. Carlson is, unsurprisingly, a conservative who advocates for less taxation, so it’s clear the conversation wasn’t intended to be a total love-in.
NowThis released leaked footage of the conservative pundit going absolutely bananas at the historian in the pre-recorded segment. The video, which looks like it was recorded on a mobile phone from behind the monitor, shows the conversation turning south after Bregman calls out Fox News and Carlson himself. Carlson then tells him to "go f*** yourself" and calling him a "tiny-brain... moron".
Bregman says:
You are a millionaire funded by billionaires, that’s what you are.
And I’m glad you now finally jumped [on] the bandwagon of people like Bernie Sanders and AOC, but you’re not part of the solution, Mr. Carlson. You’re part of the problem, actually.
You’re all like, 'Oh, I’m against the globalist elite, blah, blah, blah.'
It’s not very convincing, to be honest.
At that point, Carlson completely loses his cool, screaming:
Why don’t you go f*** yourself.
You tiny-brain — and I hope this gets picked up, because you’re a moron! I tried to give you a hearing, but you were too f***ing annoying.
Bregman took to Twitter to admit he was the one who leaked the video, which unsurprisingly never made it on air. His tweet has been liked almost 100,000 times.
