Donald Trump has started off 2019 with business as usual as he launched into a scathing tirade against 4-star retired General Stanley McChrystal.
It all began when the former commander of the US and international forces in Afghanistan called Trump ‘shady’ and ‘immoral’ and said he would not work for the US president.
He said: 'I’d say no [to working with Trump]. It’s important for me to work for people who I think are basically honest, who tell the truth as best they know it.'
The president, he suggested, had been ‘openly disingenuous on things.’
Trump demonstrated that he couldn’t take criticism by logging on to Twitter and doing the equivalent of throwing a tantrum.
The US president took his anger out on his favourite social media platform:
General McChrystal got fired like a dog by Obama. Last assignment was a total bust. Known for big, dumb mouth. Hillary lover!
As is the case when Trump tweets something scandalous, the internet were there with ready responses…
One person recalled the general hadn't been humiliated by Obama...unlike Trump is want to do with those who oppose him
Besdies, Barack Obama didn't have any furry doggos working for him during his presidency
Unless Trump knows something we don't?
And how does one get 'fired like a dog,' anyway?
Whatever. People want Donald Trump to leave dogs alone.
