The 4th of July, in normal times, is a time when Americans unify around their shared history.
But these aren't normal times, and a far-right reality TV star is president of the United States.
Trump decided to mark Independence Day with a divisive speech at Mount Rushmore, in which he hit out at "cancel culture", which he said amounted to "totalitarianism".
Before the speech, Trump posed for photographs, because of course he did.
A particularly dystopian photograph from the evening has stood out.
Trump can be seen standing in front of Mount Rushmore, with his face positioned alongside the four former presidents – George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln – as if he belongs there.
Over the last few weeks, Trump has been a vocal defender of Washington in particular over his ownership of slaves, as statues of the former president were toppled by anti-racist protesters.
This isn't the first time the stable-genius-in-chief has imagined himself alongside former presidents. Last year, a painting was seen in the White House which depicted Trump alongside former Republican presidents including Ronald Reagan.
This photo of Trump next to Mount Rushmore has caused quite the stir online.
Lots of people think it's quite disturbing and Trump was branded a "narcissist" on Twitter.
His speech was also described as "terrifying", "divisive" and "disgraceful". But something tells us it won't be the last time he deliberately causes controversy.
Anyway, people started making their own versions of the Mount Rushmore photocall.
