If you thought the end of Trump’s presidency could mean the end of bizarre rallies, then you would be wrong.

Trump supporters held a ‘Keep Christmas’ rally in Washington, D.C. over the weekend, which features a bizarre line up of various high profile Trump supporters, as well as ordinary people who seemed to think that the new Biden administration was going to cancel Christmas before they even got into power.

The event seemed to be hosted by ‘ Moms for America’, which was calling on Americans to ‘combat cancel culture and overreaching politicians’. If people couldn’t make it to the actual event, they were suggesting that people participate in group carolling around where they are, and to ‘celebrate Christmas and the constitution’ by worshipping, praying and singing.

They said that the event was about “flooding the darkness of social media with light” through spreading videos of people carolling and putting up photos of people putting up their Christmas trees.

Another speaker said that holidays should be kept as ‘holy days’ and that ‘we cannot let Thanksgiving and Christmas go by’ as examples of what is at stake.

This event was also somehow in support of President Donald Trump’s ongoing attempts to overthrow the election results, with supporter Mike Lindell, the CEO of a popular pillow company, spreading a conspiracy theory about the way that ballots were counted during the presidential election in November.

He then went onto say that there won’t be a civil war, as there is overwhelming evidence that Trump won the election and even Democrats will recognise this is true – this is unverified information, and is part of a misinformation campaign which has continued even after the election, aided and abetted by Trump and other members of his administration. Lindells said, nonsensically, “they had to double fraud it”, apparently referring to the behaviour of Democrats.

This rally came after a “Million Maga” march in DC, where Trump supporters gathered in D.C. to contest the election results, which devolved into violence and brutality as many of the Trump supporters vandalised historically black churches, and brutalised passers-by around where this march was taking place.
