President Trump has been ridiculed online for delivering a speech at his US-Mexico border wall to a small audience.
Speaking for the first time since the attack on the US Capitol last week, Trump celebrated the “great achievement” of the wall and added that the 25th amendment was of “zero risk” to him, as the Democrats look to oust him as president.
The comments came ahead of the House of Representatives passing a motion calling on vice president Mike Pence to remove Trump from office, using a section of the constitution which considers a president “incapable of executing the duties of his office”.
After the Vice President wrote to speaker Nancy Pelosi to reject the request, managers were appointed to lead the attempt to impeach president Trump for a second time.
The vote is expected to take place later today, with Trump telling the crowd in Texas that the “impeachment hoax” is the latest development in “the greatest and most vicious witch-hunt” in the history of the United States.
However, Twitter users proceeded to mock the size and location of the event, which took place in Alamo, Texas.
Hopefully this means people are finally taking Covid-19 seriously. But given the huge sizes of his events throughout the pandemic, including at the Capitol riots perhaps this means enthusiasm is waning?

@atrupar Darn. I was hoping he would hold his rally at an Alamo rental car company.— emma 🏴☠️ (@emma 🏴☠️) 1610483177

Others made reference to Four Seasons Total Landscaping, a company in Philadelphia which went viral after November’s election when it was used as the backdrop for a press conference by Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani.

Looks like some landscaping could improve that place ... https://t.co/aREWB6ZvkA— Toon Moene (@Toon Moene) 1610485992
Some also questioned the framing of the TV coverage, which appeared to show the end of the wall in the background.
@atrupar Strange camera angle on TV since it looks like the wall stops just behind him. https://t.co/EBKPZqkqJH— Frank T. Rambøl (@Frank T. Rambøl) 1610483099
@atrupar I prefer the close-up shot while he speaks...note the end of the wall on the right. https://t.co/ph1la75goO— Kerri Leigh Alexander (@Kerri Leigh Alexander) 1610483053
Oh dear. Thankfully the end of Trump’s presidency, just like the end of his wall, is in sight.
