The founder of a money saving deals website has shared tips on how to find holiday bargains.

Tom Church, founder of LatestDeals.co.uk explained to the Sunhow 'error fares' work.

Essentially, an airline mistakenly posts a flight price too far below.

Hundreds of flights every day, from hundreds of airports, appearing on hundreds of flights, mean that mistakes are more common than one might think.

These error fares are often honoured, but not every company will play ball.

Church claims he found a £1 each way airfare to Denmark with Ryanair, and a £197 return fare to Mexico (a £600 saving on the normal fare).

How to get deals

Church told the Sun:

It can take days to find a good error fare and many don’t like to share what they find. Most people will be better off following experts with special software and alerts.

Here are Church's top tips for finding these deals, which can be hidden among the accurately priced flights.

• Search for entire months on comparison websites, even if you have specific dates in mind.
• Sign up to Jack's Flight Club newsletter, which alerts you to error fares.
• Search flying forums like SecretFlying.com, Flynous.com, and FlyerTalk.com.

According to the Sun, it's also very important to wait and see if the airline will honour the error fare booking.

They state that around 60 per cent of error fares are accepted by airlines. The remaining 40 per cent are cancelled and refunded within a few days.

It all sounds like a bit of a lottery.
