Jeremy Corbyn and Theresa May didn't attend the ITV leaders debate on Thursday, instead the Leaders of the Green Party, Lib Dems, Plaid Cymru, UKIP and the SNP fought it out.

Despite turning down the invite to attend in person, the Conservatives tweeted along at home.

The Conservative Party's official twitter account threw some shade at SNP leader, Nicola Sturgeon, saying her plan for Scotland to leave the EU would mean economic chaos.

The tweet read:

Sturgeon's plan to leave the UK - Scotland's biggest market - would mean economic chaos

Twitter users are pointing out that it's the teeniest tiniest bit hypocritical...

Because um, it kinda sounds slightly familiar?

Yes, that's it, it sounds a bit like that Brexit thing?

Yeah, we get it Twitter, it's like that Brexit thing

Cognitive dissonance [noun]: the state of having inconsistent thoughts, beliefs, or attitudes, especially as relating to behavioural decisions and attitude change

Yep, this is coming from a party that plan to leave the EU - Britain's biggest market - which could lead to some economic chaos

Have they been hacked?

Is this their 'Davey Cameron is a pie' moment?

Is it a really well disguised parody account?

Are they just trolling us all?

Or, is it possible, they just don't get the irony?
