Right-wing pundit Tomi Lahren is no stranger to controversy. In fact, some would say she courts it.
Though the Fox contributor’s latest anti-migrant rant sees her reach new lows by claiming that people seeking asylum in America will give people AIDS.
She even characterised migrants, travelling in a caravan, as a "caravan of diseases”.
Anyone who has ever Googled the Holocaust or read a history book will know that characterising a whole group of people as diseased or a risk to public health is a propaganda technique used by the Nazis. The aim is to dehumanise people to such a level that the general public stops caring what happens to them.
Of course, the similarity of this rhetoric was not missed by Twitter users, with many calling out Lahren’s tone and use of words. Many also posted historical imagery to illustrate their points.
Though given Lahren recently said that watching border patrol fire tear gas at migrants was the “highlight of her Thanksgiving”, she’s unlikely to feel bad about it.
