Sometimes the daily onslaught of terrible news can really get you down. That's why this image of Tom Hanks as Mr. Rogers is a ray of hope in this drab, drab world.
The image brought some much-needed joy to Twitter users on Thursday when Sony Pictures posted the very first photo of Hanks in his upcoming role as the host of Mister Rogers' Neighbourhood in the yet untitled film.
According to a report by Buzzfeed, the movie will centre around Fred Rogers and the life lessons he gave to magazine journalist Tom Junod.
Tom Hanks is seen wearing the iconic bright red jumper over a tie, mimicking Rogers' outfit ,all the while exuding pure joy.
People on Twitter were overjoyed at this image and we're grateful for such light-hearted news for once.
Earlier this year, filmmaker Morgan Neville examined the life and legacy of Fred Rogers, who died in 2003 at 74-years-old, in a well-received documentary Won't You be my Neighbour.
The film is expected to debut in October 2019 but people are already hyped for it now, wishing it was coming sooner.
