The real meaning behind 'this little piggy' is much, much darker than you had ever imagined

Isn't it sad, you know, growing up, losing your innocence and all that? Remember when Santa was real, and the tooth fairy existed? Well they don't, deal with it.

Now, to add to your existential angst, the 'joy sappers' have taken it upon themselves to also destroy those cute little nursery rhymes we all loved so much as kids.

And, next in the firing line is 'This Little Piggy'.

Yes, we hate to break it to you, but it doesn't have a happy ending.

In case you need reminding of the words, we've helpfully provided them below:

This little piggy went to market,

This little piggy stayed at home,

This little piggy had roast beef,

This little piggy had none.

And this little piggy went...

"Wee wee wee" all the way home...

Yes, it's not so bad, it's all about a happy little piggy going to pick up some groceries on a Saturday morning at the market, right!

WRONG.

What? What on earth else could he have been doing?

Go on, we're lost!

Oh no. No, no, no, no, no.

Stop! Categorically too far.

The shock was too much for some.

Please! Just let us un-know this!

Classic, just when we finally get over Bambi...

Wee, wee, wee all the way home...

Thanks for going and ruining our childhood! Nice one.

You're never too old to lose your innocence.
