This 15-second video of the Sun is also mesmerising

The arcs of light clawing away from the edge of the Sun are coronal loops, a magnetic flux each 15 times larger than the Earth.

This false-colour video, showing what the Sun looks like when viewed under extreme ultraviolet light, was captured by Nasa's Solar Dynamics Observatory last week.
