These historical 'then and now' photos are incredible

The above photo shows how a balcony in Frankfurt from which Hitler once gave a speech flew a gay pride flag in memory of the Orlando massacre earlier this year.

A repost of the image has been shared over 5,000 times on Reddit.

The creator of the combined photographs, P Perry, has been doing this on his visits to Germany and Poland in 2016.

The original image shows Hitler addressing a crowd after the annexation of Austria in 1938.

The building is known as 'Römer', literally meaning the German surname 'Roman', and has served as the Frankfurt city hall for over 600 years.

A series of similar images, showing French and British occupations of Germany after World War One, and occupations of Poland in World War Two, can be seen in this album entitled Then/Now.
