These children show there's a far more sinister side to mean tweets

A youth charity has released a video showing children reading mean tweets aimed at them to highlight the problem of cyber bullying.

While these type of videos have been met with amusement when featuring famous celebrities or even the US president on the Jimmy Kimmel Live! show, this video (below) has a much more chilling effect.

Via its Indiegogo campaign page, the Canadian Safe School Network (CSSN) says it hopes to raise CAD$10,000 (£5,300) so that 10,000,000 people can see its message.

We wanted to use the ‘Mean Tweets’ model because in a way, those videos give the message that cyberbullying is ok – even funny.

But adult celebrities have the maturity and confidence to overcome these hurtful words. Children don’t. For regular kids, words can cut like a knife. Cyberbullying is an epidemic that invades their lives and leaves many feeling like there’s no way out.
