Lonely Planet has published a list of the 10 best beaches in Europe – and two sandy spots in the UK made the cut.
Travel experts hailed Bantham Beach, in Kingsbridge, Devon, as a good “all-rounder” for surfers, families and walkers, and promised the views at the remote Sandwood Bay, in Sutherland, north-west Scotland, more than make up for the cold sea water.
