Theresa May's speech began interestingly on Wednesday.
She ambled onto the stage for her speech on the final day of the Conservative party conference - the same day that her proposals for firms to provide lists of all foreign workers were roundly criticised - serenaded by Mick Jagger's voice ringing "if you start me up I'll never stop".
It was a bit uncomfortable.
She paused for more than a moment, before beginning:
When we came to Birmingham this week, some big questions were hanging in the air.
Do we have a plan for Brexit?
We do.
Are we ready for the effort it will take to see it through?
We are.
Can Boris Johnson stay on message for a full four days?
There was extended applause before she finished the joke:
Just about.

Let's get the replay on Boris' face after the joke.

Yep, that one landed firmly on the foreign secretary's chin.
Almost as if she's reminding him of his place.
