Of 171 countries, the UK ranks 131st for likelihood of a natural disaster affecting the country, according to a worldwide index analysing risk.
The WorldRiskReport, created by the United Nations University's Institute for Environment and Human Security shows not only the global hotspots for a high disaster risk, but the preparedness of a country towards preventing a natural event from becoming a disaster.
As a result, developing countries were often found to be more vulnerable, and therefore more at risk, than developed countries with the same exposure.
