The general election has done nothing for Ukip's anti-EU agenda

Despite enjoying a fairly steady hold in the opinion ratings over the course of the election campaign, Ukip's flagship policy appears to be slipping off the radar in voters' hearts.

If there was an 'in/out' EU referendum tomorrow, 56 per cent of Britons say they would vote to stay in the union with only 34 per cent opting out, according to a ComRes poll commissioned by ITV and the Daily Mail.

Note: ComRes interviewed 1,011 GB adults by telephone between 3rd and 5th May 2015. Data was weighted to be demographically representative of all GB adults.
