The beautiful timelapse video that took two years to make

With a stunning Alpine backdrop and a seemingly endless supply of emerald green meadows, not to mention lakes, rivers and bustling cities, capturing the soul of Austria in a three-minute video is no easy feat.

Which perhaps explains why it took Vienna-based production company FilmSpektakel two years to capture this stunning timelapse video of the country.

Covering every corner of the nation, the team captured more than 600 timelapse clips measuring around five terabytes of raw footage, and then played audio from Felix Baumgartner's stratos mission over the top.

Whatever time of year, the team explain, Austria will fill you with a sense of "schmäh" and "gemütlichkeit" (humour and warmth). Watching their video, it's hard to disagree.
