After Texas Governor Greg Abbott blamed the state’s power outages on the Green New Deal, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez hit back with the perfect response.
Noting that the Governor may not be so clued-up about his own state’s energy supply, Ms Ocasio-Cortez wrote:
“I go offline a few days and return to a GOP Gov blaming policies he hasn’t even implemented for his own failures. Gov. Abbott doesn’t seem to have a grasp on his state, so here’s a reminder: Texas runs 80-90% on fossil fuels. AOC followed up this rebuke by saying Mr Abbott “needs to get off TV pointing fingers and start helping people”.
She then suggested: “After that, he needs to read a book on his own state’s energy supply.”

Former Texas congresssman Beto O’Rourke also criticised Abbott’s treatment those hit by the power outage.
