After Halle Bailey was announced as the new Ariel in Disney’s remake of The Little Mermaid last week, talk has now turned to who will play her father, the formidable King Triton.
Good news for Disney though, as actor and comedian Terry Crews appears to have put himself forward for the role and people are loving it.
On Saturday, theAmerica's Got Talent host tweeted a picture of himself as Triton, complete with a fishtail and trident, with a castle in the background.
He captioned the picture saying "Ariel's Dad!!!!" including the hashtags #ArielsGot Terry and #AmericasGotTerry, and followed up by saying at least he can "skip leg day", due to the merman anatomy.
Crews wasn't the first to suggest he should get the role though – the photoshopped image had been circulating for days as the internet speculated about the possible casting.
Now the actor seems up for taking the role, people are seriously into it.
Although there are a few outliers hoping for a different Triton, namely Idris Elba and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
This isn't the only role Crews is touted to be cast in, many are also hoping he'll be the next He-Man in the remake of Masters of the Universe, which is due to be released in 2021.
