If you have a habit of watching pornography on your smart phone you might want to stop right now.
Researchers in London have discovered that viewing adult content on a phone leaves you far more prone to damaging software and data leaks.
Wandera, a mobile phone consultancy firm, found that phones were far more exposed to malware and malicious bugs than PC's are when watching porn.
This is due to them not having the same type of security settings as a desktop computer or laptop.
It's not just porn which is considered to be dangerous. Wandera also name gambling sites, ad networks and scam sites as risks.
Liana La Porta, editor of Wandera, wrote in a blog post:
Watching mobile porn on your smart phone is a much higher risk than watching it on your PC.
Smartphone operating systems, especially Android, are not as secure as desktops, there are many vulnerabilities that can be easily exploited by hackers.
The study analysed what was being viewed on 10,000 different mobile devices in Britain and the United States.
They found that 34 out of every 10,000 people were viewing porn on their phones on a daily basis, with 40 out of top 50 porn sites on the net being vulnerable to malware.
Once the malware has wormed it's way into your phone it can collect your personal information and leak it or allow others to blackmail you.
La Porta adds:
Adult, extreme and illegal content categories are far more likely to leak data, employ unencrypted technologies and otherwise expose organisations to risk.
Wandera also found that Friday's were the most popular day for viewing inappropriate material on phones - with Monday being the least popular.
The most frequent times of day were often from 8pm onwards. Between 2 to 3 am was found to be the peak time for mobile based porn.
