The first space hotel plans have been given permission to lift-off.
Construction on the hotel is due to commence in 2025 and intends to begin orbiting in space two years later with passengers including scientists, researchers and tourists with a capacity of 400, according to reports.
The brains behind the project are The Orbital Assembly Corporation, who describe themselves as the first commercial space construction firm. Their website says: “The station will be designed from the start to accommodate both national space agencies conducting low gravity research and space tourists who want to experience life on a large space station with the comfort of low gravity and the feel of a nice hotel.”
