There will be no Sarah Vine column this week.
It's ok. She has a good excuse.
Vine, a columnist for the Daily Mail and the spouse of Tory leadership contender Michael Gove is apparently away this week, and as such her column is also absent from today's edition.
Last week she provided a behind the scenes reaction to Gove's announcement that he was running to become party leader and the next prime minister.
Gove came third in the first ballot of Conservative MPs deciding which two candidates will be included in the runoff election decided by party members in the country. Candidate Liam Fox was eliminated, and Stephen Crabb promptly withdrew, leaving Gove in last place.
Vine probably has lot to be getting on with in the real life House of Cards world we apparently live in.
How different things might be if Boris Johnson had known that.
