We’ve all been there once or twice, embarrassingly locking ourselves out of our homes.
But we have not, and likely could not, do what Dwayne ‘The Rock” Johnson did to get onto his property a few days ago.
Johnson, the actor and former wrestling champion, was forced to take matters into his own two hands, literally, when a power cut disabled the gate in front of his home, even though he tried to “override the hydraulic system".
“I did what I had to do,” he wrote on Instagram with a picture of the torn-down gate, explaining he was in a hurry because hundreds of crew members were waiting for him to arrive at work on the set of his latest movie.
“I pushed, pulled and ripped the gate completely off myself,” he said. “Ripped it completely out of the brick wall, severed the steel hydraulics and threw it on the grass.” He ended with the classic hashtag: #ripgates.
Cue actor Ryan Reynolds, who jumped into The Rock's comments with the highly-relatable perfect quip:
The gate opened the OTHER way.
Good one, Ryan.
The comment was liked thousands of times, likely because everyone knows what it's like to push a ‘pull’ door and look dumb.
Next time, perhaps give that a try, The Rock, before resorting to more drastic measures?
