Rumours of a bomb threat on the Tube are just that

Rumours are circulating via WhatsApp and text message of a bomb threat on the London Underground on Monday morning.

However, these claims are entirely false.

A typical message doing the rounds says that police officers are being recalled from leave and told to start work at 4am on Monday after reports of a terror threat against the West End.

To reiterate, these messages are in no way true.

The British Transport Police's Ch Sup Paul Brogden tweeted:

It is thought the rumours spread after the UK terror threat was raised from substantial to severe on Friday.
