Rudy Giuliani’s new cigar advertising venture is leaving viewers more than a little baffled.

Giuliani – who was once the mayor of New York and TIME’s Person of the Year – has taken a bit of a stumble in recent months. He tested positive for Covid-19, gave a very bizarre press conference where it seemed like his hair was leaking, and he even got caught in one of Sacha Baron Cohen’s sting operations as part of Cohen’s publicity for a new movie.

He’s still one of Trump’s personal attorneys – and was responsible for the now infamous Four Seasons Total Landscaping press conference shortly after the presidential election – but it’s safe to say that he’s fallen from grace in very significant ways.

Like so many others, Giuliani now seems to have turned to influencing. Now, strange videos where Giuliani hawks cigars have emerged on his Youtube channel. In them, he says,

“If you want a good cigar, go to a good cigar shop. You want the best? Go to Famous Smoke Shop.Let Famous Smoke deliver your favorite cigars right to your doorstep at America’s lowest prices.”

He says this right in the middle of a rant about Joe Biden, in one of the videos that he releases regularly about the 2020 election being stolen.

The video that these cigars are advertised in is one about the Biden crime family. In the same video, he also advertised for gold coins – at American Harford Gold, telling people to say “Rudy sent you,” after saying that he accomplished a lot in 2020, such as “exposing the truth.”

Turns out that saying Rudy sent you doesn’t really make any difference. People weren’t surprised that Giuliani seems to be doing advertising for random companies, although they did point out it doesn’t seem like he really needs the money.

Giuliani was recently released from the hospital after being treated for Covid-19, which he appears to have contracted during his time in the White House. It’s unclear whether or not he has respected social distancing and mask wearing rules since, although White House staff members are apparently among the first in line to receive the vaccine.

But if Rudy’s starting to do sponcon, it might be a sign that Trump’s time in the sun – and Giuliani’s privileged position – could soon be over.

What that really means is more bizarre advertising in Giuliani’s blogs, which won’t necessarily be a bad thing.
