Ricky Gervais has revealed the 'real' reason Donald Trump was elected

Comedian and creator of ‘The Office’, Ricky Gervais, knows the real reason Donald Trump was elected and consequently caused mass upheaval and general world chaos.

It’s all to do with the chocolate.

Toblerone to be exact.

In case you’ve buried the trauma, here it is:

Yes: Toblerone increased the gaps between their iconic triangular chocolate bars, to national outrage.

Mondelez International, the company which makes the product, insists the change isn’t a big deal:

We are experiencing higher costs for numerous ingredients. We carry these costs for as long as possible, but to ensure Toblerone remains on-shelf, is affordable and retains the triangular shape, we have had to reduce the weight of just two of our bars in the UK.

 

At one point it was the most talked about subject in the UK…

And then Donald Trump won. People seemed to forget about the Toblerone Tragedy very quickly.
