Online humiliation was the dish of the day for Richard Blackwood when he made a culinary blunder on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch programme.
Blackwood – who recently joined the cast of EastEnders – was asked to add some lemon zest to a dish he was preparing with hosts Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer.
When he was handed a grater, he refused it, remarking: “I’m just cutting it”, before uncertainly accepting it and squashing the inside of the fruit down on to the tool.
“You need to grate the outside,” said Rimmer.
“You want the outside?” Blackwood said, confusion hanging heavy in the air.
The clip went viral on Twitter within minutes, with one viewer saying: “Cringe factor is high watching Richard Blackwood on @SundayBrunchC4” and another adding, “The amount of times I’ve watched Richard Blackwood trying to zest a lemon is pretty uncountable”.
