Renters are sharing their stories of disastrous housing conditions and it's utterly awful

When campaign group Generation Rent tweeted to encourage tenants to share their horror stories, they can't have been prepared for what happened next.

Over the past 24 hours, we've heard about more mould, damp, broken boilers, persistent vermin and unfairly docked deposits than we ever thought possible.

Turns out, landlords are actually awful. Who knew?

First thing's first – the boilers. So. Many. Boilers.

No hot water is pretty bad, but these things are probably worse.

Some landlords had serious boundary issues.
